I might put on some pix of my last house where we did a bit of renovating  (before I moved out again!) May do some 'before and after'  with this one but I don't think it'll look great for a while!

This was the main pond at my last house

Oh my FG !!  Stunning ...

28/04/2013 at 22:15

Thanks chick. Can't take all the credit as it was there when we bought the house but it was dreadfully neglected as was the surrounding bank - and the house! Left much longer and it would all have needed taking out so we did a lot of clearing and re jigging. Having trouble moving the pix from that other site but will try again another day as I have a few 'before and after' ones. I miss it very much - but that's life chick. Wasn't to be a fairy tale ending.

FG - sometimes the best endings come after a few twists and turns !

Look forward to seeing how your new project is shaping up ...

Wow Fairygirl. That is truly amazing. I'm sure with time you can make the garden you have now a wonderful space.

29/04/2013 at 11:03

Love the bug holtel. Have you residents?

And Chicky I am sure in time your new garden will be as spectacular, such a difficult time in your life. I found my garden was my saviour when I had a difficult time.

29/04/2013 at 12:26

...^me too!..

...such lovely grounds, I'm wondering if Fairygirl lived in a mansion...

29/04/2013 at 14:15

this was part of the renovation-putting in a path

alongside so that we could get right along the pond to the other end.

Should have said-no not a mansion but a Victorian house with a bit of land-some of it quite wild. Would have been a long term plan. It was a mistake but I've lived to tell the tale!

I miss the pond and the wildlife though.

What a lot of progress Dannyboy, thanks for showing us.

Your garden looked wonderful Fairygirl, but I hope you aren't too sad parting with it. What is your new garden like?

30/04/2013 at 07:38

Thank you everyone for your kind messsages. It means a lot to me.

Yes B-Lizzie- I was very sad - but it was more about what it represented as much as the garden itself. It's hard lookingat the pix at all but it's a catharsis as well...

New garden couldn't be more different! Grass, gravel, slabs and fences. The only bit for plants will be coming out to make way for extension but it means the garden will get bigger as I will be able to bring in what is just grass just now and make it a bit bigger. Will try and put some pix on . Most of my plants are in pots just now!

New challenge!

30/04/2013 at 09:35

Fairygirl, enjoy your challenge - I'm sure you will. I've just started planting out my potted specimens that I was assembling last year when I began to plan the 'new bit' after years of neglect.
