FG how do you tame the butterflies for their photo session?
Found this little critter (leaf fly?) enjoying my rhododendron, not sure if I should have moved it.
spuds. shed and runners summertime and the livin is easy
Great produce Deano - your display shows the real benefit of home grown when done by an expert!
I'm only in my first year of gardening alone and have achieved nothing like your oitput but your harvest encourages us all and gives us a great standard to emulate.
Ditto archiepem: just seen your spuds and beans
Lovely spuds archie and great produce as always Deano!
So neat isn't he?
Pix of my garden today with the shed out the way and a good bit of clearing done.
The ivies are for the outside of the new fence (next to shed) and the gate in left corner will be moved to give a longer run of fence for climbers and a few bits and pieces with a path alongside it as well. Most of the gravelled area and the bare soil will be a new lawn and the strip of grass will be path. I've started making the borders along the new fence too. They'll be shadier as they face east mostly. The Mahonia is at the centre axis of the new garden- there's a bit of temporary fence on the right which will go when the extension's underway.
Well done fairygirl
FG - its all starting to come together . Just need to find a spot for the acteas !!
Mongolian Sunflowers are at their tallest now...
Looking good Fairygirl. Exciting planning and planting, isn't it?
Fantastic sunflowers LF - a flower that never fails to make me smile
FG Such an improvement with the shed tucked away. You are doing so well. It's fun isn't it planning preparing and then planting - hard work thoough!
I've still got an obsession with the alliums, they'll probably still be there when next years push up alongside them!
Lobellia starting to flower, New un-named grass in front of it. Sticks behind mark where I've just planted 9 more, yes you've guessed it - allium bulbs!
Thanks for the kind comments! I have the plan all drawn up- have done for months so it's just a question of putting it in place, but measuring up properly is vital before you start and now I've got the beds under way it feels more positive. The weather this year has been a great help - some of the work would have been murder if we'd had the kind of summers we normally have up here. Still a long way to go and no doubt I'll want about 10 times the plants that will actually fit!
The lawn may get smaller and smaller.....
MrsG I nearly but some Alliums at Morrisons today!
Mrs garden what a nice boarder love alliums too really like the white cosmos
Fairygirl - plan sounds good is it filled with plants?
Mrs garden had alliums for the first timethis year- really liked them. I've ordered more for next year and will keep my eyes open for more. Love your pics.
More pics please
OK Potty - you did ask!
Mentioned on another thread that I found some photos of the garden last year, and was shocked how much it has now filled out without me really noticing - here is what i mean:
