Really shining at the moment Callicarpa 'Profusion'

My Nerines are performing really well this year and loving this weather.

Lovely colours Daintiness.  Are nerines easy to grow?  When we visited New Zealand a couple of years ago they were everywhere (North Island) and I thought they were only suitable for southern climes.

They did not survive the first  of the really cold winters here, even against a south facing wall. But, they did and multiplied in my parent's Somerset garden.

They need to be planted so that the shoulders of the bulbs are just out of the ground so they are a bit prone to frost damage if your garden is really cold.

Thanks for the tips Berghill.

Daintiness - lovely pics.  Your nerines are a good strong pink - mine are a bit peelywally which doesn't work at this time of year.  Pastels are for summer - now we need zing!

great cosmos daintiness - are you going for another generation next year?

27/10/2013 at 09:40

Thanks chicky. I have the washed out version too and they are not worth showing!!

I can't take the credit for the cosmos (unfortunately) - lovely colours - as they are gardenfantic's

27/10/2013 at 09:50

My mistake - of course the "new" cosmos is from GF!!

27/10/2013 at 13:03

My nerines are very poor this year.I know they like to be squashed but does there come a point when you need to split them up@ I've also let some thyme creep over them, Ithey won't like that either will they

Pink seems to be the colour of the moment. Love the cosmos and nerines.

Would  Callicarpa 'Profusion' grow ok in a pot?
