Hi All

Oh well can't believe we are approaching the end of June, so here is a garden update.

because of the warm spring, all the seeds got off to a flying start, all our French marigolds germinated and we had 120 plants! all have found homes. My snap dragons I sowed way back in January are now started to blossom as well as the dwarf dahlias  I grew from seed for the first time this year and will try to get the same variety next year .

Another first for me has been swan river daisies, all have buds ready to flower, I don't think I'll bother next year with them they seem a bit 'wayward'. Also I tryed Bidens and again yellow flowers are appearing.

As with every year I grow some from seeds and I buy some plants from the nursery. So this years purchasing have been red verbena, black, purple and deep pink petunias and five fuchsia's for a £1 from homebase, and a selection of violas. Mine never look that great from seed.

On the subject of bargains,  my £1 ornamental sage from said DIY store I got last year is covered in lovely deep blue flower spikes.

I'm sure there is more, but I'm happy with this years growing season. The weather up here has been sunshine and showers, ideal growing conditions. Day and night temps average 12deg C

Hi Nut, I would love to, but I can never upload from my camera to this forum. I can get them on to my laptop and I press the tree icon and select the picture but when I press upload, nothing happens

Mark........sounds like you've been working really hard...........as Nutcutlet says some photos would be welcome and then we can enjoy your garden too

It takes a long tome to upload, especially if it's a big file. Try reducing the size.

I cut what my camera produces to 30% of the original and that goes on nicely. I'm not a techie and realise that does tell you much

Hi Mark, You've done really well to get 120 marigolds  Hope they make the area around you look brilliant

I tried the Swan River Daisies a couple of seasons ago but was very disappointed. Definitely won't bother again as there are plants that give a better show. Shorter varieties of Cosmos are good.

Would love to see photo.  When you upload give it a few minutes.  Gardening photos are not instant - but a lot quicker than the plants

Thanks all, hopefully I,'ll be able to.take a few shots tomorrow and try to upload them.

Mark - resize your photos to around 1000 pixels on the longest side and they should upload fine.

You've got some attractive and healthy plants Mark. I think the ornamental sage is lovely.
