It's another lovely morning here in Norfolk - I shall have to get on with the painting - apparently there's rain on the way late afternoon ......

Thanks very much Dove. They're beautiful. Not much in flower here. I've got some red leaves from a Nandina domestica Nana. I think there might also be some Iris unguicularis on the hill I'm not moving out there. Very cold and dark.
Hi Clari. the white roses Dove put on for you remind me of the pink one I've got (in summer) called Jane McGrath - after the cricketers wife who died from breast cancer. It was marketed as a fund raiser for breast cancer research. I'll just have a look back to see if I've still got a photo here. Hang on....
Hooray, it's still there.
Morning all Lovely rose Pat and for a good cause
For some reason, I've always loved August even when I changed career to teaching. Scottish schools return later this month.
Dewdrops, I hope you get some positive news today.
Dove and obelixx, keep at the furniture painting
Morning all /afties Pat. Happy August
I love August too Joyce. It's often the best 'summer' weather here isn't it? Even though it gets autumnal early on in the month - you can feel the change in the air.
Watched The Imitation Game - astonishingly good film. Cried at the end
Back to work for me - typical, the weather's lovely for getting outside today. I still have two weeks to take so it's not so bad.
I'll have to look back to see what happened latterly in the July thread...
have a good day everyone - whether painting, digging, working or ...doing nowt
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Morning all, hi Pat
Happy Yorkshire Day Clari. Nice to start the month off with lovely flowers.
Dew Drops hopefully news will be a bit more positive today (hugs).
I recorded the film Fairy but no doubt it will be ages before I watch it. It's a lovely bright morning but I've got to do a bit of holiday shopping. The usual chemist stuff. Two days to go.
Have a good day everyone
Hi all.
Lovely day here, trying to think how I might celebrate Yorkshire day.
It is a wonderful film isn't it, such amazing acting as well.
