Now is the month of Maying
When merry lads are playing,
Fa la la la la la la la la,
Fa la la la la la lah.
Each with his bonny lass
Upon the greeny grass.
Fa la la, etc...
The Spring, clad all in gladness,
Doth laugh at Winter's sadness,
Fa la la, etc...
And to the bagpipe's sound
The nymphs tread out their ground.
Fa la la, etc...
Fie then! why sit we musing,
Youth's sweet delight refusing?
Fa la la, etc...
Say, dainty nymphs, and speak,
Shall we play barley-break?
Fa la la etc...
... but that's enough fa la la-ing ... let's get on with chatting ...

I've been waiting for 20 minutes to give someone else the chance to be first, but too late, it's me after all. Hi Dove. I don't know your little song, but it sounds good.
Ahah, Kenn, you did it! Good.
To be honest, when I saw Hosta was up early I'd half hoped that he'd be the first to post so we could crown him with a garland as our May Queen, but he'll have to wait for next year now
Here's some info Pat https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Now_Is_the_Month_of_Maying
we used to sing it in school choir, but I don't remember the double entendres being explained to us
It's a lovely song to sing - there's lots of versions on You Tube

Morning Dove, Keen and Pat. And for those to come too.
A pinch and a kick for being so quick!
Woke up with the sun pouring through the curtains, it looks beautiful out there. Hopefully get out in the garden for a bit before the family arrives.
I've not heard of your little song either Dove.
Have a lovely Sunday everyone.
Take care, TTFN xx
Thanks Dove. I'll have a listen to it. Morning SGLily and Keen. Sorry I spelled your name incorrectly before.
I have stolen Hosta's May Queen mantle *smacks own hand*
