Hello Pottie Pam - loved that pic of the cobaea - fingers crossed that the weather will hold for a while for it.
Hey folks, don't forget Star GazeLily is baking Chocolate Fudge Cake and a Banana Loaf to have with a cuppa at 3.30 - the queue starts behind Verdun
Kettle on, cake, plates and knife on coffee table. Help yourselves
Oooh just in time for cake. Shall I make the tea and coffee?
Can I get a big piece please lily- I need to keep my strength up with all this excitement today- and Verdun will take it all if I let him...!
got mine thanks SGL. Think verdun will miss out if he's not quick..
Why is it whenever I take ages to write something it just dissappears
Bev - the same reason that toast falls butter side down?
Have as much as you want fairy, plenty for everyone.
Still pouring here, hasn't stopped all day
Hey, what a lovely day, spent with good friends and cake.

Same here MrsG, going over my head, just going along with it
Think I'll go back in the garden and take a headache pill. Too much mambo jumbo at the moment.
Crikey, what a lot of posts! I went out to Harvest Festival lunch and pages have been written. No wonder site went funny after Matty's post, it couldn't cope!
Lovely lunch, one young mum with a baby brought a huge chocolate cake covered with Maltesers. Yum
Hopeless weekend for gardening, poured and poured.
Fruit loaf? Mmmmmmmmmmm
Was going to take photo of the choc cake in previous post "Lovely lunch, one young mum with a baby brought a huge chocolate cake covered with Maltesers. Yum" but it went so fast this was all I took!! Don't know what the red balls were, my bit only had Maltesers and grated chocolate.
Hey.....yum yums. I'm addicted to them now. Blame the foodbank cos that's where my obsession was renewed recently.
Its basically dry amd warm here with odd spells of drizzle so getting out some finished for the season tender perennials......agastaches, tuberous salvias, etc and potting up divided clumps. Next year will be even better than this. Got some new agastaches recently and already they are flowering.....Heatwave and summer sunset look amazing so can't wait for these to be full size plants next year. And that new delphinium too..exciting times ahead
Absolutely tipping it down now - we had about an hour of dry earlier, but it was too wet underfoot (and under the dripping ash trees) to do anything ... so there's an Oxtail casserole and a big pot of spiced red cabbage, both simmering slowly in the oven for supper, together with a tray of tomatoes in olive oil, roasting slowly.
Almost all the toms are red now - certainly no green tomato chutney being made here this year - good job we've still got plenty from last year
Well, caked out now. Its still pouring down. The patch of garden to the side of the house is flooded. Quite dark too, we've had to put the table lamp on. Hope the weather brightens up a little next week I haven't put my bulbs in yet!!
