31st March-spring forward

STEP AWAY FROM THE SEED PACKETS!  We've had a lovely day today in South Yorkshire, BUT we are due a cold snap towards the end of the month.  Don't sow anything yet unless you have a heated greenhouse to put it in, and don't take the insulation off your greenhouse until the end of the month.

Not long now, that's when the days really start to lengthen. 

I know there is always some critiscm of the clock changes in this county but I really enjoy them. They mark the seasons and the passing of the time for me, just in the same way as the solstices do.

Spring is booked to arrive here this morning-there is more blue than white at present-the forecast is rain from Wednesday-mild in the South but cold easterly winds for those oop north

Bad news I'm afraid -after Spring arrived on Monday-it is going away again-over the next few days it will be getting noticeably colder-frosts, cold winds. even snow for some by Monday

Weve had a blip of sun and temps up to 16C today but it's set to start getting cooler again with rain tomorrow, downpours at teh weekend and snow on Monday going down to )5C again overnight.   My babies will be staying tucked up indoors instead of going out to the greenhouse just yet.

We have snow forecast for next week, starting Monday.

Could someone please remind me what the Sun looks like?  We've had fog here all week, rain today and more fog forecast for tomorrow.

I don't mind the cold (as long as it doesn't snow or someone invents snow wheels for my pushchair), but I miss the sunshine.  Everything seems so grey and dreary without it.
