We've got one of those big shiny things here too Alan   but it's flippin' cold - all the grass is white and stiff and sparkly !!!

Crunchy grass here too, but that strange orb in the sky is beckoning me to get my boots on and get outside  Been so grey and drizzly misery last few days.

What big shiny thing?  Grey here.

Gardening in a T shirt, in December!  Needs to be 20° for me to do that!

I warmed up doing some digging once the sun had thawed the ground a bit. I started out with woolly hat and big coat on this morning, soon took those off in the lovely sun. Wasn't until I came indoors to do some lunch I realised my toes were freezing and how cold it really was. Someone should invent heated wellies.

They have

NEW BATTERY POWERED HEATED INSOLES FOR SHOES BOOTS WELLIES WINTER FOOT WARMERS   by Kingavon   Available on Amazon
LesleyK

I believe  that you can get heated insoles for wellies Gemma I could do with the heated gloves as well.

Tootles

Do any of you put your wellies by the radiator when it's chilly?

We've got the log burner going here.

I love reading about everyone else's weather.

Its VERY cold here in Notts.

Fishy65

A bit parky here in Northants Tootles

GemmaJF

I put my wellies and gloves on top of the wormery, which is on top of our outside boiler overnight to warm them up a bit.

I'm seriously tempted by those Dove

Getting very cold here now, everything frozen over again. Forecast is for milder air overnight and some rain in the morning. If it stays clear though, going to be a hard frost, have to see in the morning.

Ground was frozen here in the NW this morning and no shiny thing in the sky all day just dark cloud and light rain.

Must get some thick socks to wear with my wellies, I'm tempted with the heated insoles though

I would buy today socks that really are as warm as advertised either by assistant or wrapping, they never are and as im now getting nearer to the stage of oveltine at nite i need warm feet in the garden not blocks of ice, sock makers read this please, and im not going back to tights like when I was working underground  in the winter boy was that cold or wot Warm socks please,,,, suns gone,  raining again erein Muns N. Norfolk

LesleyK

Fur lined wellies may be the way forward Alan.  If you don't like the tights look you could go for pop socks under the inadequate socks

Just changed from snow to sleet here

Milder as forecast here today, cloudy and a bit windy. Sun is supposed to be out this afternoon. Might get in a couple of hours if Sunday lunch isn't weighing me down too much by then.

You need wool socks, they will keep your little tootsies warm and toasty.

Lovely day here.  Plenty of sunshine.  But breezy.  Not too cold
