@Inkadog, here yah go

 It might not be to everyone's taste, but I'm blimming over the moon with it.

@ Wintersong - I know just what you mean by diddling round for ages until you hit the right combo. I have a spot which just needs the perfect punctuation point, think I'm on version # 97 at the moment.

My garden's on so many levels it's like playing 3d chess.
12/05/2012 at 18:44

@figrat, I guess garden designers just have the knack, but its much more satisfying when we do it ourselves.

12/05/2012 at 18:51

I would love a change in levels. I think it adds so much interest to a garden and I am much better at placing plants off existing structures or landscaping than arranging a flat empty bed.

It's really stupid that I am a competent artist in so many other crafts and hobbies and understand colour and composition naturally and yet I dither and faff about like some numpty in the garden. My hubby says, just plant it already...but I can't be satified with less than perfection

Also an iris lover. Have a bog standard blue jobbie out now, a clump of iris sibirica which will erupt in a month or so, and a happy clump of iris unguicularis which flowers through the winter. Never had much luck with bulb Dutch irises though.

@ Dean, I have the baby brother to your greenhouse, and hubby swore never again after building it!  So worth it though.

@ Inkadog, respect to your friend! Wow!

@ Wintersong, beautiful pics as ever

Fabulous sunny day here in Pembrokeshire.  Didn't do much in the garden, too busy trying to get as much washing done and out while the drying is free!  I sowed more Lollo Rossa, Rocket and mixed leaf salad, and some pumpkins.  I saved some seeds from a shop bought pumpkin last Hallowe'en after my plant failed, so I'm not sure how well they will do.  Also sowed some Cat Grass to try to tempt Marmite to stay home a bit more, out of the neighbours' garden.  Fingers crossed!
