My little girl is having a stint on the animated series of Mr Bean at the moment. She watched this one earlier, and it did make me smile. I know I am protective of some of my plants (not to his extreme), but thought I'd share it for a giggle.

And there was a moral tale 'cheating doesn't pay'.

I guess that Mr Bean videos, and similar, are the modern day equivalent of fairy tales, or even Bible stories, for a lot of children.

Mr Bean was very kind to the slugs (no poisonous pellets to get rid of them). There's a moral lesson there too, which is commonly found in fairy stories - 'be kind to the animals and they will help you'. As the caterpillars, who were the heroes of the story, did in that tale.
