I am very busy at the moment taking cuttings for next years display. I have one greenhouse heated overwinter and it is usually packed to the rafters

Wow Pam, do you have a production line? You put me to shame, started out with good intentions to do cuttings today and got sidetracked. I think I need to write lines -I must focus!

Well Pam your hardwork does pay off cos your garden looks absolutely beautiful. It is worth it don't you think when you start to see your cuttings grow into colourful flowers next summer. Happy gardening.

Hi Ive not ever heard of coleus, the plants in the bottom picture, they look unusual and really eye catching, i would like to try doing lots of cuttings myself, I'm a beginner though so it won't be half as good as all yours!! Anyway well done, all yours look great

How organised are you, I did only a few this afternoon, I am not sure if I have done them correct I mixed perlite in with compost, what is your secret.

Lilylouise, I wish I had your perseverance and stamina. I took some cuttings, probably 30 or 40 all at one go recently. Should do more but I guess I'm a bit lazy. With me the pineapple safe, salvia elegant, I think, survives outdoors but Its foliage scent rivals that of lemon verbena. I have it in flower now......red flowers some 4 or 5 feet high. You have encouraged me to take some more cuttings and will do so tomorrow

@pam.. a lady after my own heart.. i am never happier then when in garden.. i did cuttings yesterday and hope to carry on today.. i did vebenia rigida, perrenial wallflowers, penstemons, apple blossom geranium, buddehlia... loads more to do today for next year.

sowed seeds for my foxglovesvarious colours, maltease cross, primroses, polyanthus and cowslips.

and i always listen to Radio 2.. takes me back..

gardeningfanatic - have you taken cuttings of Verbena rigida before? The reason I ask is that I bought a plant this year and absolutely love it I listen to radio 4 - like the plays and listening to all the discussions that go right over my head

Well Pam you have spurred me into action today.

This is my first year with a greenhouse. I am not planning to heat it over the winter but I wondered if I take cuttings of pelargoniums will they overwinter ok or will I need to bring them indoors. I did think I would put bubble wrap inside to insulate and cut out any draughts.

Yes i too take cuttings of Fushia's, Pelagoniums,Pansies,etc but nothing like you,what a wonderful escape and pleasure. Wish my windowsills were a LOT bigger.

pam.. no this is first year for me too. but i added to my scrapbook how to ake cuttings from a piece on this site.. so easy.. also i have noticed the ones in the garden have grown shooters out.. some at leat 8 ins away.. they grow from root base bit like tuberus plants.. wasnt expecting that.. so i ahve dug them up today and potted on and have 4 more plants.. you can check the peice out via clciking on me and going to scrap book i think.
