Plant porn

I have received several catalogues in the last week.

Like the Kama Sutra, some is frankly impossible.

I offer as evidence the Bakker website.

Laburnocytisus adamii, they have a laburnum picture, that they have painted alternate flowers pink. There is such a plant, but it doesn't look like their illustration.

Their mixed buddleja is no better. A white bush with flowers painted red and purple. They send three bushes. The result will look nothing like the pictures.

Has anyone else got examples of plant porn that are quite frankly, just going to be a disappointment.?

I love the way many catalogues will say about a plant: "flowers continuously from May to September". Not in my garden it doesn't .

Buy from nurseries, the people that grow things.
    Forget the restimage

  • Plant fairs are great. Lots of nurseries, real growers who know their stuff, but you don't have to live near them to get a chance to buy!

I looked after a garden which had one until their teenage son used it for target practice with his air rifle.

It didn't seem to like being peppered with lead pellets.
