Gardengirl

I receaved my free packet of wild flower seeds also a pk of Phacelia seeds free from another site

The begonia plugs I got from the mail were very small I hope they will grow bigger in the pots I put them in as im away for a week  should i leave them in the greenhouse or put them out in the garden ???

I had a nice selection of 10 packets of seeds for my hanging baskets  which was worth it just for the postage

Thanks nutcutlet do you want anything? name it I will see if I have it

Joyce - glad you got your wildflower seeds - not sure about the plants but I think they will be ok in the greenhouse

nutcutlet

No thanks Gardengirl, I seem to have an excess of plants awaiting my attention

They all need planting out hollie hock. Some of them have been waiting since last year. The bulbs should be in the garden. Then there's all the new seeds coming along inside the GH. Good job I've retired.

That looks so amazing nutcutlet nice lot of plants there - really like the greenhouse as well

Love my GH, you can just see the garden bench stored in there for the winter. Good for teabreaks on sunny days

Hello all been sowing a lot more seed swap seeds and some are coming up nicely

Has any one else been sowing any more of your seed swap seeds?

nutcutlet

Yes, all pretty good gardengirl. Did the honesty seeds turn out to be variegated? I've got an excellent patch this year so I'll have plenty more. I've got an envelope ready with your name on. There's going to be lots of yellow rattle as well, do you still need some?

Sorry that the stipa I was goung to move and send you a piece of is one of the jobs that didn't get done. There are a lot of jobs that haven't got done.

Hello nut, yes the honesty seeds did turn out to be varigated, thank you.  Would welcome more, plus the yellow rattle.  Don't worry about the stipa, there are lots of things that I haven't done too.

Could you tell me how to sow the rosa mogenii (?) seeds you sent me before as I haven't got round to sowing them yet, do they need to be soaked or anything?  Is it just a case of sowing them straight into compost?

I sowed swapped dahlias, they're coming up better than tubers, ever so pleased with them. Sunflowers doing well too

nutcutlet

It's Rosa moyesii, sorry about the writing

I sowed mine in 2 batches and the over wintered ones did best. Might be worth putting some in the fridge for a while as an artificial winter. But as things are this year they'll probaly be chilled outside. Did I send you enough to do some in the fridge and some in a pot outside? There's still a few here if you need some more.

Don't sow deeply. Light may be required. I covered mine with vermiculite.

Years ago I poured boiling water on rosehips to make rose hip wine. After I strained it I tipped the remains on the garden and a rose forest germinated. Dog roses though, not rugosa but worth considering
