What a wet day off Im having! Been to garden centre and cheered myself up with a purchase of a buddleja globosa, I know where it's going to go, just need it to stop raining so I can plant it out! hopefully it will attract bees, we need bees ......
didn't start raining til 4ish here, got all the mowing done
I've sorted out my greenhouse today - just started raining here!
It's been a dumping place for the last year so now I've got a decent size plot of earth on one side - is it too late to plant tomatos? Any suggestions?
started raining just as I was potting up some plants ,to heavy to continue so cuppa and computer.
I decided to clear a small area. Then I found another roscoea , buried under euphorbia. Then I decided to rip out all the euphorbia griffithi since it shouldn't be there anyway, becuse it spread too far. Then it looked silly with just a clump of aquilegias in the middle. So I cleared the lot, put the aquilegias in a bucket to pot up, ....and then it rained, and rained, and rained
It started raining here about 3 - before that I'd done quite a bit of potting up and potting on, including potting up a tub for the front porch. After that I polished off a huge pile of ironing that had been accumulating since we came back from our holiday.
It's only drizzling - I've left the towels out on the line.
i got the vacuum cleaner out
Been pouring down here since 11.30 this morning, got work finished at 3 customers before getting rained off. Sent the afternoon ironing, doing accounts and banking and then made some flapjacks and pasta for tea.
Not a bad day at all here. Until the minute (literally) I stepped out of work this evening, that is!
Ah, typical Bob, you admire the sun from the window, looking forward to getting in the garden, thinking of the jobs to be done, then about an hour before work finishes it clouds over, and then, hopes are dashed....godamn british weather lol !
Paula- do flapjacks taste good with pasta?......
Been wet here most of day too. After work I went to B&Q as I forgot to get a new saw the other day. It dried up soon as I left of course! Took youngest with me and we got a big Marvel Comics 'Superheroes' picture for oldest's birthday next week. An extra from me for her help with the fence.
Made lasagne for tea. Just had it and watching the tennis.
Too full up to do any work outside now
Been trying to get my two year old Grandaughter's project finished for her "Birthday Party" on Sunday! But rain stopped play!
But not far off to be honest!
Mutley, you can still, get tomato plants and they will grow quickly now.
Its been lovely here today.....almost afraid to mention the word sun as rain seems to,have busy on some places.
I think it's supposed,to be good again tomorrow. ,
Betty, I have never grown globosa but intended to. Nice plant.
Not a lot needs doing in the garden at moment but today so,e regale lilies opened. It was the scent I noticed first. Things happen quickly in the garden at this time
I picked my first strawberry crop of the year. It consisted of one strawberry but it was very tasty!
I had a few strawberries that were delicious! Also watered a couple of hostas just because, wondered about a bit trying to envisage changes I will make and then attacked my Ceanothus and the privet beneath it to tidy them up and make room for climbers that will get planted behind them against the fence.
