Lovely yesterday if the wind had eased it would have been shorts weather. Today 2 degrees and starting to drizzle.

Here in essex as I write this we have hailstones like marbles, roll on flaming June.

Stockton, both lawns cut but it is freezing out there, rapidly clouding over so I think it was a good job I was out early. Getting a nice hot cuppa into me before shopping, "oh" and a clean up before Daughter lands after her Honeymoon to inspect the place.

She shouldnt have much to grumble about should she Frank?

It's cold out there when walking into the NWest wind! I didnt care & wore some wooly gloves. Lots of sun, the odd shower threatening but none yet, & the wind is strong.

Last evening I'd fleeced up plants in the big coldframe, which I cant fully close because of the size of the not yet fully hardened off plants in there & also in my cold greenhouse. It didnt go down quite as cold as expected, thank goodness. Tonight supposed to be slightly warmer. J.

In Nottingham we had a hail storm at 1pm. The temperature dropped to 5 C

Now its sunny and the garden table is steaming dry

Just popped out to the shops and a snow plough passed me.

I hope the council don't know something I don't about the weather.

Hailstorms on and off all day and a very cold wind in the highlands, that's why i am on laptop

Wild out there today. Wind really strong, but funnily enough I didnt think felt as cold when first walking today- still wore the gloves though- until I started back home facing right into the wind!!

Sun sort of trying, Washing still on the line. It's about 10C out the back now, but because the garden faces East, feels a lot colder when out there today.

The only gardening done today was the opening of coldframes & staking a dahlia before it snaps, despite still being in a coldframe. J.

Nice morning, but cold. In the middle of weeding and doing the "Chelsea Chop" on huge rudbeckias when heavens opened.

Not wet,but cold and so............. windy

First post on the forum. Wish I could say the weather was better here but cloudy and dull... as ever!! Off to London this weekend, what's it like there??

Hi Josh,

welcome to the forum, nice to have someone else from The West Country.

The potty gardener

Welcome Josh. Everyone is really helpful and friendly on here- and on internet too much when the weather is too bad for gardening

The weather here is a four-letter word, take your pick! Removed the plastic bags that covered my  dahlias and the fleece from raised bed (they predicted frost last night but warmer today 6°) and what happened half an hour later, it hailed! Luckily only small pea sized:

Blue skies, sunshine and the wind has dropped,I,m sure it can,t be Bank Holiday weekend

It's bright, sunny, blue sky no wind....cold last night though.

Cold and wet. Poured in night, woke me up.

Stockton is Sunny and warm, clear blue sky. The bedding was stripped washed and on the line drying early, take advantage is my motto.

Kent had a chilly start but the sun managed to make an appearance by the afternoon and the wind even warmed up a bit. I do believe it turned into a marvellous day
