I have just spread some bags of 6X, as per instructions, on the garden.  It is not a large garden and the smell is quite potent!  I was wondering how long the smell would be noticeable for.

Water it in and the smell should disappear quite quickly. If not just tickle it into the soil a bit so it's covered up.

What is 6x?

It pongs. Good stuff though

Nut, do you use it on beds, or just on lawns?

Anywhere artjak. I used to sprinkle it around like bone meal or similar products.

I thought it was something that you put in cars

HollieH, I thought it was an Australian lager

21/05/2013 at 22:00

Maybe it's what Australian lager is made from.

That thought did cross my mind also, I think I'm might be confusing it with 4 stroke

..a blast from the past for me, I haven't used this since the 1980's... very rich and you don't need to use so much... the smell didn't last long, if I recall...

4 stroke, lager, 6x. Not much to choose between them

it's not lager it's bitter and a very nice one. Not like manure at all. Might be a Wadworth Brewery pint,

6X is 6 times concentrated Farm Yard Manure.  Instead of putting it on thick, you only have to sprinkle it around. It does pong though. Often a very strong smell of ammonia when you open the sack.

When I used to use it our neighbour's dog would come over for a snack. Loved it.

I use organic chicken manure pellets; the smell is really yuk.
