I am constructing my first green house, very old, in bits from a friend. Most of the glass panes fit on top of the one below by means of metal or plastic 'hangers' that sit on the bottom pane, and the top pane fits into the groove.

I have installed a louvered window (probably too high up, seeing other online guidance!) but cant work out how to fit the pane of glass that needs to sit above it, as the top pane of the louvre moves, and so cant support a clip or another pane of glass on top of it.

Only thing I can think is that there needs to be a metal strip above, which my upper pane of glass can sit on. But this isn't there, and not too sure how to make a suitable alternative ...?

any feedback or ideas welcome!

You could try a piece of L shaped plastic edging strip, available in most builders merchants at reasonable cost. Drill holes in the greenhouse framework where needed and bolt in place. The glass should  rest on this and your louvre open and close easily.
