Late Bulb Planting

Hello

I have been given a load of bulbs (tulips, daffodils and crocus)  that should have been planted in autumn or early winter last year.  Is it too late now to plant them somewhere?  They don't appear to be dried out and have green shoots emerging from the tops of them which suggests they must have some life left in them.

Any advice on what to do with them would be welcome

Many thanks

Madeleine

They need to be planted as soon as you can.  As it's late, they may not flower very well this year but at least in the ground they can get their foliage working on building up energy for next year's flower.

    Left unplanted, they will die.

  • Thank you very much.  Will pop them in the ground somewhere and hope for blooms next year.  I might try putting them in some spare pots too.
