This is one very fat blue tit that fledged from our nest box last week,
It was sat on the bird table for half an hour whilst it's parents fed it what seemed like every few seconds it's so greedy.
The birds are going crazy at my bird table at the moment, mainly blue tits robins and black birds all feeding thier young, i love watching them.

I'm surprised he can get off the ground! lovely picture! Thanks for sharing
Awwww!
For the last 2 days I've had lots of blue tit and coal tit babies arriving and making a racket in my apple tree. They will be due in half an hour.
nice pic
I've had birds nesting in the boundary hedge. One pair are currently building their nest. I'm suprised at how much stuff they can carry in their beaks.
About a month ago there was a robin on the allotment which would sit about a ft away and watch me weeding, ever so tame
In one of my gardens I have a robin which follows me a around when I'm planting or hoeing in beds. I move she eats and when I take a barrow to the compost heap she follows and snacks when I dump things. Sometimes I'll turn over some soil, just to watch her jump down and snack, it's a lovely game to play.
wow what a fat blue tit
ours fledged a four weeks ago and i thought he hadn't survived the first night as i could no longer hear him in the trees calling, and the daily visits from mum were no more either which was strange, then two days ago he appeared at the feeder with the mum, soo pleased to see them back again
my husband was telling me yesterday that his friend had a robin follow him for an eight mile round trip walk, I think they do like to follow people around as i also have a friend who has an allotment and a robin follows him around and sits in the soil, waiting for the soil to be turned over
We have to take frequent rests from our gardening, in order to let the robins have a root around in the soil, otherwise they get impatient and get under our feet.
Yesterday we had a young Gt tit on one of the feeders, and a young blue tit was getting impatient, and landed on the Gt tit's back in order to get at the sunflower hearts
It's like a pre-school nursery out there at the moment
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Unfortunately i didn't manage to get nest boxes up this year, but will do next year. Although we have blue tits and black caps nesting nearby so i've had the parents visiting my birdtable frantically feeding on mealworms i've put out. It's so stunning to watch. Do post more pics if you get a chance!
Hi ! A blackbird has taken up permanent residence in my choicia bush. He even has his own toilet . An area where the leaves have died on the branch, which is completely white. Last year, I disturbed his nest, fortunately with no ill effects . I need to trim the bush as its become overgrown. When is the best time, so as not endanger any nestlings and scare his Mrs.
