We've noticed that some small mammals ( young hedgehogs in particular) are suffering from dehydration in this hot spell.
If everyone puts out a shallow dish of water somewhere in their garden - a flowerpot saucer will be fine - and keeps it topped up, it will help enormously.
You may not think that you have hedgehogs visiting your garden, but you might be surprised ............... and the last thing you want to be surprised by is a dead hedgehog on your lawn.
Good point Dove.
Normally I rely on my pond for such matters but in this hot spell I've been putting out a bowl front and back as the pond levels keep dropping and I don't always have the water to top it up.
