How can I protect 3 foot high avocado trees which I have grown from "seed" this year.I go away for the winter(3 months). The plants are in sheltered corners.Should I smother them in compost or horse manure..for warmth or surround with a coat of bubble wrap ? or bury under lots of garden cuttings..branches & the like? Any suggestions
