unfortunately I can't peg a few roots as it grows in the pavement in front of my house and has been there for about 40 years and I cannot see any earth what so ever so I suppose I should treat it like Lavender and just prune down slightly .thanks for all your advice
I have a very old honeysuckle which needs a serious prune but I was wondering before I begin if I cut it right down to the old wood, which is the hight I would like,, is there a risk that the whole hedge dies
ok thanks for all your help and I will go and buy special fertilizer for this type of plant as I have always used tomatoe feed for the whole garden!!
should I give it a good feed now,,? I fed it late spring and added some more compost on the top as it is impossible to chang all the soil as the pot is enormous as well as the plant its self. There are big big buds already formed for next year and of course with all the rain we have had this summer !!!
My 5 year old rhododendron which is in a large container has bsome bottom leaves turning yellow..Is this a normal thing to shed older leaves or is it a sign of vineweevil which I have quite often in various other pots on my terrace
I love phlox and each year I have large clumps of them growing beautifully and then all the leaves start turning brown and dryed up !! This happens every year and I am lost as I have changed the place in the garden as I thought they were getting too much sun but low and behold this morning I noticed that all the leaves were drying up and turning brown !!
climbing rose must be about 35 years old and given to me buy my father when I moved into my house.I feed all my roses with my own compost ( all my other roses look fantastic) maybe its just too old pity as it used to be beautiful .Its a New Dawn or something similar
All the leaves on my very old climbing rose are all very pale yellow in colour and and much smaller than usual. This happened last year on a couple of new shoots and didn't survive last winter. What should I spray it with as I'm worried that the whole thing will end up dying .There is no mildiew or other desease but just little pale sick looking leaves
unfortunatly its FAR too big its enormous and impossible to wash each leave as it grows up a big tree aswell
My enormus star jasmins leaves are covered in sooty substance due most probabaly to the mild winter. What should I spray it with ??
