Damnation to double flowers

i have a cottage garden and today saw a huge bumble bee go into some rocks on my bank and not come out i hope they will nest there will keep an eye on them.

on my allotment its two feet high,but in my garden 2 inched high only about a mile apart,has anyone made rhubarb wine,as i would love to try it,providing its not to hard to do.

hi greenbucket well im impressed you are going for it big time.well this is what i did today,bought some seed trays out the 99p store bought seeds ie similer to you filled them up with seed compost patted them down (the dirt that is) sprinkled on a few seeds in each,sifted a bit of soil on top of them gave them a light watering and put them in one of those plastic 4 tier greenhouse £14.99 from pondstretcher i keep it open during the day and shut it at night,and wait.you will be fine.

i feel so sorry for you maud,what do they do when they get in, we have just had our agm meeting cos theres a problem with people burning there rubbish on site when the wind is in the wrong direction it chokes you,so thats a bit of a problem as it causes bad feeling if you tell them to put there fire out the other problem is we are right next door to a holiday camp whose golf range is just over the fence so you can imagin all the balls that come flying over so we are in battle with them and all we want is a quiet life.

i dont water my ginger, keep it fairly dry and dont have any problems the same with jerusalem artichokes plant bits and leave till autumn

buy a piece from shops break it in bits and plant in pot or the ground around 3inches deep 4ins apart and thats it it will grow around two feet tall when leaves turn yellow hey ho u will have ginger for life and what you leave in the pot will grow again. the bits i plant are as big as a conker.

i also remember the time when all seven of us would rush out in the street to watch the chimney sweeps brush come of the chimney.playing skipping with muvers washing line,knocking on street doors and running away,nicking flowers out of gardens and giving them to me mum.only to get a clip round the earhole for pinching them.oh well times have changed

hi all a friend of mine has just given me a plant called a zebra plant never had one befor but there is about six long stems in a little pot been there all winter surprised it has suvived.does it grow big and wide and when i put it in the ground do i seperate the stems or put the whole thing in?
