Why I never buy online

Agree agree agree. I'm 31 and only been gardening my own garden for a year. I'm addicted to garden centres , and the cafe's . Had a week
Off work and been to a garden centre nearly everyday.

I look in my garden and think... That's from there, that was a bargain from there and that was bought on a ruddy rainy day from there. I research on the net but always worry that I'm not getting what I'm seeing!!

I do order seeds in the Internet (mainly ebay) I have saved 2/3 of the cost for my dad by ordering from the Internet. I hope that doesn't make me a hipacrit but sorry purse winds on seeds and plants quality from garden centres!

More plants needed

Last year I discovered a bedding plant called gazania kiss series. Seriously good plant that I hardly watered and it bloomed its heart out. Aldi have miniature plugs of these for 1.99. They are like a large daisy flower. I'm addicted and just set 20 bronze seeds tonight! I have 100 kiss series to sow hopefully tomorrow. I don't have room for them all but I figure I can make family smile by giving gifts!

Aldi garden stuff

mine wasn't on a roll just a sheet. But still good stuff. I hope I can keep it to next season but maybe that's the super scrimper wishful thinker in me!

What happens when you leave your boyfriend unattended!!

We are on a hill and catch the wind quite a lot. My worry is that it will be rather exposed if I just do mounds or raised beds. So I'm almost certain in my head that I need a fixed design, get the structure in and then plant around to soften. Then veg. But I think with cost it won't be ready for this season. Maybe for the winter veg.

I haven't quite Sussex how to make the most if my veg and flower bed in the winter period. It's that bleak time that worries me the most with putting beds in the front.

Don't get me wrong I'm not hung up totally on neatness and looks but with the beds being at the front they will be surveyed by all! The neighbours down the lane knew I had new flower beds at the front before I even cut the first sod, if you know what I mean.

Will do. Just didn't know if cutting off flowering stems would damage the flower! Call me addicted but I have just been in the shed with a torch sowing 20 gazania, 18 sweet pea and 2 primula vialii roots that I got reduced from homebase!

I can't even grow from seed!!!!!!!

My flowers were just one spike of bluey purple, not really interesting. The leaves are much more beautiful!

I braved it! Hat coat and dog and torch. So that is 20 gazania and 18 sweet peas set. I wondered why my feet were so cold and realised I had my slippers on -oops!!! Now thinking what else can I get done in the twilight!!! I think I have hit aches in my feet though.
