Cripes Bill, that snow looks challenging! Lets hope it stays on their side of the lake   Hope you and Mrs Bill are keeping well and are prepped for the winter

I am very jealous of your poppy Fairy. I wanted one for Christmas, and told OH, and mentioned that they would sell out fast. When I went to buy some for my family they had all sold out, and OH hadn't got around to it

What an evening I've had  The whole of town was in gridlock and I only just made it home to get a little bit of food inside me before off out again to get stuck in it on my way to Guides  Got there a wee bit late. But then had a lovely surprise, one of the parents brought us some flowers as a thank you for what we do What a lovely end to a challenging day

We have a few traditions that we keep at Christmas . . . .

As a child we all had one of my mums hockey socks at the end of our bed and when we woke on Christmas Day we would all get together in mum and day's room, on or in their bed and all open our stockings together, one present at a time, taking it in turns. Then we'd get up and, while mum prepared dinner we got dressed. We all then went to the family service at the Cathedral - dad and younger brother sang in the choir - and then we would come back to a lovely turkey dinner. We all then had to do the rhyme " salama gurkey, once ate a turkey, salama gurkey when he was small. Salama gurkey ate up that turkey, bones, feathers and all" (a tradition from when my dad was a boy). We opened our presents after lunch, once the tidying up had been done, one at a time, taking it in turns. We never watched TV on Christmas Day.

These traditions (apart from the bed bit) are still going strong today  My younger brother does them with his family and am have introduced them to OH, who is struggling to get used them

Evening all

We went to the Harvester - OH's choice.

Edd, OH will be working in the stock room at HMV. Unlike a puppy, it is just for Christmas, but in retail one never knows, and he might get the fire for another job if this one doesn't last.

I don't want snow in two weeks either. I'm having another week off
