I had a similar problem with a bed and border that I created last year from my lawn. I watered it heavily one evening to soften the ground and then hand forked and big forked it and removed the grass and roots. It took a while, and was hard work, but now they are clear and planted up

I'll probably have to do it next year as I am bound to have missed some

It can be Lily  it's not the best area in my town   hehehe!

Recommend a full season of strawberries?

I don't know many of the answers, but I can share my experience. My brother gave me 18 plants last year. I got a reasonable crop, but the strawbs were quite small (don't know the variety). I let the runners do what they wanted and grow where they liked. This year the fruit from the original plant is much bigger and those from the runners are smaller. So far I have been eating strawbs prob for a month

Thanks Dove  Girls got to go outside so all happy

Drama when I got home . . . police cars screeching up, black car stopped, man rather angry at being stopped. Arrested him. One of the cars passengers (man in blue shirt) ran off, possibly into one of the gardens. Police start looking for him. 5 cars in total, then came the chopper. All gone now. Still, was exciting at the time

Hope you've all had a quiet night

I think I def need something doing KEF, although I would appreciate it if you didn't ring tommoz

Not keen on cider Dove, or cidre! But will def have a drink on Clari  I remember when I got engaged people didn't stop asking if we had set a date. They've pretty much given up now (approx 4 years later ).

You were def with me Lily  Thanks, I did need you today. Not a major wobble, but just nice to know you're there (if you know what I mean?)

Off to get changed for Guides. Wish it would cool down here and make it's mind up re rain

Afternoon all

Total disaster with getting up this morning. Alarm went off, I turned it off and then went back to sleep. Woke up at 8.15, the time I should be leaving the house. Managed to get to work on time, but have felt a bit behind all morning!

Have my own coffee, but would love a bit of cake

Better get back to it . . . . the salt doesn't mine itself

Missed that it was OL's anniversary  Congrats Mr and Mrs OL

Daisy, that's the kind of mindless nonsense that I would expect in my neck of the woods, and one reason my front 'garden' doesn't look great. I hope that they left you some to enjoy.

Day was survivable, glad yours was better Lily. One day I will post on here and not feel the need to comment on work

Watered on the off chance it will rain tonight . . . Unlikely though!
