|About me:||I am a horticulturally trained gardening journalist with over 32 years experience in all areas of the media – from magazines, newspapers and books to TV, radio, online, iPad apps, live events and more.
A keen gardener since childhood, I worked on commercial nurseries and gained an honours degree in horticulture before becoming a respected gardening journalist. Joining Garden Answers in 1982 I quickly became its editor, moving on to join EMAPin 1986 and become editor of the market leading weekly Garden News.
I launched BBC Gardeners' World Magazine from scratch in 1991, and remained its editor for over 22 years. During all that time Gardeners' World remained the biggest selling newsstand gardening publication, reaching a massive ABC of over 382,000 copies a month at its height.
The British Society of Magazine Editors has twice crowned me ‘Editor Of The Year’(1998 and 2004), and the Garden Media Guild awarded me Practical Journalist of the Year in 2009.
I am a well-known face and commentator in the media, a regular radio broadcaster, and have made numerous television appearances (including judging BBC Gardener of the Year). I have written for many magazines, newspapers and books, including 'Collins Complete Garden Manual' and ‘HDRA Encyclopedia of Organic Gardening’. In 1993 I helped launch BBC Gardeners' World Live, and develop gardening theatre shows every year at this event.
I am currently running my own gardening media company – Adam Pasco Media – to produce gardening content, including features, photography and videos, for use in any media format. I'm a consultant to several gardening, retail and trade organisations.
I also blog for Gardeners' World, lecture for the RHS, and speak at trade conferences.
