Late May wedding

Posted: 14/09/2013 at 10:31

Don't you just love weddings

I did something similiar for a friends wedding using glass tumblers rather than milk bottles. Put a little bit of blue food colouring in the water which worked quite well.

What flowers is soooo hard tho. especially with the weather we have had in the last two years. Who knows what we will get!

Cornflowers should be a pretty safe bet for the blue and would look so pretty with the cow parsley Dove mentioned. Those with some tulips would be perfect. You could grow yellow, white and Green Star tulips for variation in the bottles. This is Green Star...

Verdun you do make me chuckle. Angels playing harps I can believe but the rest of it?!

Morning all.

Was sunny this morning, after very heavy rain last night, all night, but clouding over again and looks like more rain  Why smiley? Cos I don't have to work in it and all the plants are happy!!!!!

To do, paperwork, sort seeds to send, go visit people.

Checked damson tree this morning. Nearly ready. Think next week will be damson jelly time my mouth is already watering at the thought

Dove that sounds terrible. Glad you got it sorted but does make you wonder how many people just accept things and don't complain. Have to admit ours here seem pretty good.

Are you heading my way to see parents?

One of my customers has a crab apple tree but not the normal little ones these are about twice the size of normal crabs. They taste sweeter but not much flavour to them. He just composts the lot!!!!!! Don't think they'd taste too nice as a jelly. Any suggestions on what I could make them in to?

Nut would have loved to have seen your expression

Guy was that friend or foe who gave it to you?!

The sap is awful stuff. It is photosensitive and I got some on my gloves once, had hair in my face and used the back of my glove to push it away a few times. A few hours later I had blisters all over my cheeks like I had poured boiling water on my face!!!!!!!

Love reading your blog James. Glad you started again and foot is healed.

Do we get pictures? I am hopeless at visualizing from a description

Do you have a particular area you are planting the anemones? They disappear completely when they've finished and it is so hard to tell if you have disturbed them because the knobbly little brown bulbs, rhizomes...whatever they are called....look just like a lump of dirt! I think I have killed a fair few over the years so make sure you remember exactly where you put them.
