What to do with your produce

Posted: 13/09/2013 at 21:30

One of my customers has a crab apple tree but not the normal little ones these are about twice the size of normal crabs. They taste sweeter but not much flavour to them. He just composts the lot!!!!!! Don't think they'd taste too nice as a jelly. Any suggestions on what I could make them in to?

Nut would have loved to have seen your expression

Guy was that friend or foe who gave it to you?!

The sap is awful stuff. It is photosensitive and I got some on my gloves once, had hair in my face and used the back of my glove to push it away a few times. A few hours later I had blisters all over my cheeks like I had poured boiling water on my face!!!!!!!

Love reading your blog James. Glad you started again and foot is healed.

Do we get pictures? I am hopeless at visualizing from a description

Do you have a particular area you are planting the anemones? They disappear completely when they've finished and it is so hard to tell if you have disturbed them because the knobbly little brown bulbs, rhizomes...whatever they are called....look just like a lump of dirt! I think I have killed a fair few over the years so make sure you remember exactly where you put them.

They do fine here in pots shoved up against the house eaves. Warm, sheltered and not too wet. How different is your weather to mine James?

You little gem Adddict Can i have some please,i have been in my tardis shelling pods etc.at the moment all i can do is literally just walk into my GH tur aroung left and right and that is it.I really must get a bigger one.Whats your plans for the weekend?

Lol Diddy sounds like you are pretty addicted yourself. What are you going to do with all these seeds you are growing? Do you have room in your garden for them all?

Do you want some of everything I collected? Need to save some Nigella for Coys and a few for one of my gardens but you can have the rest.

This weekend is Zumba sat morning, all that boring stuff we all have to do when not at work, sort the seeds I have for you and Coys then go visit friends as many as poss to show I still exist lol.

Lol nut. Can you imagine the taste or rather the burn on the way down?!

Mow it certainly does as do most Euphorbias. I grew E. Wulfenii in my garden and when  sat in the garden I could hear them exploding! Didn't mind tho. Easy to pull out where I didn't want them and plenty to share around

Collected more seeds today Diddy. Sat in the boot of my car at the min. Too tired to deal with them now. Collected pink and a few blood red hollyhock seeds, more Astrantia hadspen and Nigella blue.

Since you started this thread it has become like an addiction to collect!!
