Thanks Verdun - Definitely not dry -  have trimmed off the yellow leaves today just in case there was some form of disease to try and minimise it - but seems this may be the norm ?  - not really a chance of ground planting  - we have made the garden all on raised beds and planters - thinking of maintenance being in our later years

Hi - Thanks for the info - water not a problem wife religiously waters all baskets planters and beds - It was re-repotted  to the big planter 2 months ago ( 75% compost 25% topsoil mix ) when purchased to allow for growth and has developed well - have only fed once since purchase with liquid "One Plant Food" that I have used previously on all my other flowering plants with no problem

Not yet flowered - In big pot - approx 1m tall by .75m wide - in full sun

Some of the green / silver leaves are going yellow / brown - mainly on the lower part of the plant - any idea of problem or remedy please

Thanks Kef - May also move it onto our patio as that gets slightly more direct sun  - if we are lucky enough to get any sun in the coming days

I have been given 3 dianthus plants and told they were known as Pink Kisses.  The plants seem to be developing well  - the stems are about 10cm and just showing small buds but there are also flower heads appearing just above the soil - should these be removed or just left ?
