Hi Zoomer nice one all this info is just what i want so i can try it, probably with peas and beans to begin with,and i watched Monty last nite ,he mentioned not storing in plastic bags so i checked all the seeds id saved ALL in plastic food bags and ALL wet and no good ,but never mind still time to do it all again live and learn they say and iv learnt so much on this site since joining, many thanks for all the time and trouble youv all taken BUT i,ll b back 4 more you see AND bye the way iv just had to take in my this years Fig tree im growing for the new house cus its blowing rain /wind 30 miles an hour here in Tenby feel sorry for the holiday makers, right manyofem Cheers Alan4711

Taff im told if the garlic stays in one bulb its due to not enough cold,we always plant in Oct /Nov colder the better it seems, i even for a laugh planted a sainsburys one last year and it grew just nicely a bit small but very strong (solent i think it was)im trying elephant this winter

Hi Potty its so strange greenhouse sellers don't give sound advise on bases for there customers, iv decided to slab or grit ours and have removable containers for the growing of, makes it easier to change soils and stuff, I wouldn't use grow bags as theirs some better types of bags available now in G/C and on the net not too costly, iv also saved the big builders bags the timber and builders use for bulk delivery, cut them down and put four 12 inch planks in to make them rigid a few holes in the bottom and have instant raised beds, sounds a nice buy you have there Cedar nice one

iv not eaten spam for years,and i used to love potted beef and drippin and corned dog, we were thinking of going on holiday now its a holiday in the shed on our new allotment Paris ah ah i wish

with all the things we are planning to build for the Birds,bees hedgehogs fish beetles
were thinking of putting a tent on the lawn and let them all have the house ( not the fish) and aint this moving a Pain,

Now that's really interesting on a serious note do you think one should save the biggest or the sweetest sized pea as the smaller ones are nearly always sweete,
maybe zomer44 might give me some guidance, we had lots of mice so dipping in Paraffin seemed to work that's what most granddads used to do i remember,right cheers all Alan

Hi we used Kings catalog and got a good discount as we theywere ordering for 13 allotmenteers they we had no complaints from anyone and we were the only ones who tried Winston spuds and the were simply horrible the rest ok,has anybody tried Atlantic Kidney (Jersey Royals im told) id be interested how they were, oh an Charlotte seems to be the winner this year with most of us here in Tenby S/Wales
