Gooseberry Bush Being Eaten Alive

Posted: 28/05/2014 at 17:42

My problem is, that I cannot get to the allotment everyday. The damage shown was done in one day!

I have probably over panicked as, I have pulled all the fruit off even though it's still not ripe.

I thought if I'm not having it neither are them little bleeders!

I can do something with it I'm sure.

Gooseberry Bush Being Eaten Alive

Posted: 28/05/2014 at 16:18

This is the second year running that my gooseberry bush is slowly being stripped clean of everything.

It has a plague of tiny caterpillars munching away.

I put the net on too late this year and last year I didn't use one at all.

How do I get rid of them?

Thanks

I planted 20 of them last year in a sectioned off area of my plot as, I know they spread like wild fire.

No sooner than the shoots appear something is eating them!.

I protect them with plastic buckets with the bottoms cut off but something is still getting in there.

Any help appreciated

I need to know which of the two: Sturon or, Piroska is the mildest onion.

I don't like them hot.

Thanks

OK,

Ignore all my previous photos...so sorry.

This is the fruit. It's called Cherimoya or Chirimoya,

It has the nick name of the, 'ice cream fruit'

Try Paw Paw, sometimes spelled Pau Pau

Pau Pau seems too elongated and has less seeds

I'm afraid not.The top photo in my last post is a kaki so you can see the difference from the inside.

I've sent an email to my brother in law in Spain who, also ate one last year so I am hoping he can remember the name.

They are rounder than kaki seeds
