I done my strawberries one lot in a large planter and the other's in a hanging basket in the greenhouse the hanging basket ones are bigger and ready quicker but both taste sweet and juicy i like them with ice cream.

FG your toms are well ahead of mine you enjoy what kind are they i have moneymaker and gardner's delight 65 plants so should have plenty to give away or sell cant wait to see what happens first time growing them. Been eating strawberries for a couple of weeks now and had first potatoe's on weds night with butter spring onion corn beef and cabbage they where lovely.

Don't post on this thread much more the morning one but always read it big hugs to you all keep your chins up and gardens pretty at all times. Am sure family,friends ,dogs and hobbies help everyone along the way and as my father always said to me look forward never back in life. As FG said this is like a family on here it gives everyone good support in times of need long may it continue. I only took up gardening last year so can't really answer many question's on the forum but what i have learned from others is great and has made making my garden looking great that little easier and loving every minute and is helping me get through my illness easier no doubt have a good day all and take care.

Fairygirl the tree is Salix integra (Hakuro Nishiki) bought it from one of the small local nursery which was bigger than the same tree Homebase and GC offered.

Oh forgot many happy returns to your daughter today Fairygirl hope she has a great day only thing is the older they get the older we are getting with them . Only as old as you feel and your only 27 hope this rain goes off to let me go into the garden soon.

Morning all just dropped son off at work in Glasgow he was at the Bon Jovi concert last night and a drink so had to drive him to work. Very heavy rain here this morning sowed some basil,coriander,salad leaf and carrots last night today got dentist at 3.00. Great to hear Brumbull is fine and well no doubt he will be back on here soon as he can keeping us all right with his advice have a good day all.

Morning all popped in for tea & toast been in greenhouses since 6.30 doing a few planters for the front path now going to feed tomato plants when go back out it's dry here now. Yesterday it rained the whole day was a good day to watch MIL house as the workmen in doing new bathroom brother in law off the rest of the week so he will be there till it's finished. Looking forward to Sat as it's the gardening club all day outing visiting 3 gardens in Ayrshire bus leaves at 9am back at 5.30/6.00 pm and weather looks to be good me and wife will enjoy the day.

Morning all dull but dry just now in for tea & toast then going up to MIL as she's getting bathroom refitted full job bath out walk in shower to make it easy for her. Wife not wanting to leave her herself with the workmen her son will be there till 11 then he's off to work. Got my planting area finished yesterday very happy with it as got a load of  plants where i wanted them. Next big job is doing the front path and back border but got up to 12th Aug to tackle them when weather lets me. FG nothing worse then when the watter is running down the shugh of yer erse and still no finished what you wanted to do have a good day all.

Morning all windy here just now but stopped raining for the time being but overcast will be trying to finish a planting area which was chipped at the back garden as got plenty of plants to put in it. Was not on here yesterday up early and me and my good lady went away for the day before she returned to work today. Went to Gourock to see Cardwell GC which one of the girls at work told me about very large GC spent about 3 hours there and had tea & scone only spent £8 on a patio rose called Sunseeker to plant at my mother & fathers grave. Then drove along the Ayrshire coast down into Dumfries stopped for fish & chips back home at 6.30 last night lovely day out. Now going out to get on with the work before rain stops play for me lol have a good day all.
