Such a brilliant word, co-counters!

Thanks, Dove. Not nearly as impressive list as yours, though!

Do potted plants on a patio count? If they do, then mine are:
Erysimum "Winter Orchid"

I've already tried that last Saturday, didn't work - went on a long (30+ miles) hike and it didn't rain anyway, it was just headwind most of the time and very cold.

YES, SO I DID, HOW DID YOU GUESS? BUT THEY WERE EXCELLENT BUILDERS, I WAS FORTUNATE IN THAT AS WELL.

I've lived in various countries and travelled quite a bit, but, I never felt HOME until I moved to a small village in the SE a few years ago. I keep pinching myself and thinking "I live here!". I know I'm not the only one, because a neighbour recently said the same to me. Even the builder who did my new kitchen, who I imagine had seen lots of nice places, would stand in front of my front door and keep saying "It's so beautiful here, so peaceful."

HydrangeaKate, that was my reasoning too! :D I feel I've been very good for buying only one of the many gorgeous rhododendrons they had on display...

Tell me about that... have just come back from a local independent GC with a rhododendron and a huge pot for it, neither of which I'd had any intention of buying!

If you are a Which magazine subscriber, do mention it as well. I find that it helps.

Agree. I enjoyed the episode very much.

Call them. In my experience they ignore e-mails.

Thanks, chicky! They are lovely and it's reassuring to see they are growing nicely in those smallish pots.

That's great to hear, chicky! Mine will have to stay in a pot. How big have yours grown?

Excellent, thanks! Nice to see that my inertia is beneficial for once!
P.S. I didn't mean to ignore H-C's advice, I just didn't read through the thread again before I posted.

My magnolia arrived today. It's bare-root, so I plonked it into a bucket of water. Is it OK to leave it in the bucket till tomorrow afternoon? I could pot it into MPC now, but I'd have to repot it tomorrow anyway when I get some ericaceous compost, so I'd prefer the bucket-of-water-overnight option. Thoughts? Is it going to survive that?

I found each of the items mildly interesting on its own, but, for me, it was the combination of them all that made the whole episode very boring. There just wasn't almost anything topical this week. (I really enjoyed the first two episodes, though!)
I'm really looking forward to watching Beechgrove again.

Thank you, Hosta, it reminded me of my visit last June. A lovely place.
