Tks for that Alina I did wonder if there was a nest in the pot but ive being watching them and they are leaving the pot when they leave the tree. Ive put the vaseline on and they sure as heck dont like it. Ive given the tree a spray as well. Great site this by the way. Im learning so much from reading the forums

hi everyone,

Ive got a dwarf cherry in a pot and whilst having my coffee I noticed ants marching up and down this little tree, obviously very busy. Will they do it any harm or is it safe to leave them to go about their business

Choosing a greenhouse

Im currently scouting around on ebay for one. I just have to try and talk the other half round because they usually have to be dismantled by the buyer. I have not got a clue on greenhouse gardening and some of the things i read makes me think "it all sounds a tad confusing". But hey im going to go for it and learn from my mistakes

dwarf peach tree from homebase

Posted: 18/05/2012 at 14:03

Hi Kezza,I brought it inside a few days ago and am currently waiting for signs of life. However if no improvement in a couple of weeks it is going back to the store. Maybe these peach trees need a lot of sun to get them going and unfortunately thats something we r lacking at the moment. I also got a little patio cherry and thats covered in leaves but as i say its a different beast altogether

Houseplant SOS from complete novice!

Hi there

Well i read about poor Bob and as i was scrolling down and things were getting worse and worse and the ultimate in horror he lost his gorgeous new clump of leafs....I didnt know whether to laugh or cry. Then when I actually seen this handsome creatures photograph ...well!! Im sat here crying laughing!!!!!!! (made my day)

Bob looks like a dracaena palm to me though im probably wrong. It may be the central heating thats getting him down. You could try misting him with water and maybe try him in a different window for a while. Im not great with plants myself but he looks kind of dried up to me

Thanks for your reply Alina. I took your advice and rang them up. Theyre happy to take it back but said it may give it a kick start if i bring it indoors for a week or so. I will try that and if there is no improvement i will return it

dwarf peach tree from homebase

Hi peeps. Approx 3 weeks ago i bought a hardy dwarf patio peach from homebase. It was only when i got home and planted it in a pot i thought it should be starting to show some leaf. To date there is no sign of any leafs erupting from this poor soul although its alive (green underneath when i scratch the stem). I think this may have been had by early frosts when it was still in the store or wherever it was born. Is it likely to come into leaf or should i take it back
