I grew some buttersqushes from seed in middle size bukets. They grew very nicely however they produced beautiful large yellow flowers but none ended in any squash. what did i do wrong?  thanks for any advice.

we inherited a 15 years olive tree when we bought the house 10 years ago. i have been pruning the tree without really knowing if i am doing it right. is there a correct way or you just go by gut feeling??!! any advice would be very welcome before i ruin what is left of it
