How to post photos from iPad

Brilliant! Thank you so much, Victoria Sponge! But how do I find this helpful information again? Is there a way to save a thread like this? I'd love to be able to read your comments again - and perhaps contribute to the discussion. There must be lots of us who read the forum on an iPad.....thanks again!

Bare spot problem

Posted: 01/08/2014 at 20:15
In my north-facing border (in Dorset) I have a bare spot between an osmanthus and a fuchsia. At the moment a number of alliums are in bloom, but they are leggy and not really deserving of a prominent position. When can I re-locate the allium and what would you recommend for the resulting bare spot?

I'm glad you like my agapanthus. They have been in the same pots for five years (they do much better when tightly packed) and improve every time they flower. I feed them regularly in the Summer then let them dry in the garage, cut off their leaves, dampen them about once a month - and off they go again in the Spring!

Weeks and weeks of pleasure!

I quite like the way the alliums are peeping through the nandina too....

I've seen so many lovely plants on this forum - and am quite pleased with this one in my own:

I think you're both right! Thank you so much......I had forgotten that I had a few bedding asters last year. They flowered brilliantly but were only about nine inches tall. I didn't think they would have survived the Winter...obviously these are going to be a lot taller. Do you think they will be any good? I am still tempted to use my lovely bright dahlia.

Could someone identify the plans in the centre front of my photo? If they are weeds, I have a lovely dahlia I could put in their place!

I live in Dorset and have several of these wonderful plants - but the same thing happens every year. They are starting to flower at the end of June. So yes, they look lovely now, but won't in August. I'd like to know why too!

Mine were disappointing the first year - but I potted them up for the Winter, replanted them in March and this year they are fabulous! Will do the same in Nov....

I love these grasses and use them throughout the garden. They look very special among perennials. But a recently planted, quite large specimen seems to have "opened out" and is sprawling all over a fuchsia. It has been very dry here for the last two weeks - and we have been away. Do you think dryness is the problem? I know these grasses sometimes do this later in the year but not in June....
