I can't  cheat and add it to the "Star of your garden" thread - because it's last year's photo...but it's pouring with rain outside and I thought I would cheer myself up by looking at "old" photos...I love this one of my back garden. Do you have favourites too?

I saw these lovely plants in Abbey Gardens, Winchester last week. I'd love some! Can someone tell me what they are please.

Help with fuchsias please

I told my poorly-performing magnolia in the Spring that it's continued presence in my garden would depend upon it's behaviour......when I looked closely today there appeared to be about twenty buds developing. Do you think these are flower buds? And is it usual for August?

Thanks, Verdun. Don't know where you live, star gaze lily, but we are lucky enough to live close to Knoll Gardens in Dorset. All my grasses come from there - including this one. They have an excellent website and catalogue.

Should my crab apple look like this?

Should my malus Profusion look like this? It did have blossom earlier in the year, but ever since has looked pretty much like this: bare-looking branches with blotchy-looking leaves at the ends. Has it reached its sell-by date, I wonder?
