I will/I won't grow that again

Dianthus "Arctic Fire". 72 planted, all appear to be thriving (lots of healthy leaves), but not one single flower. What a waste of money........apparently perennial.....worth leaving in position overwinter?

I took 10 cuttings of Delta Sarah three weeks ago and am just about to do the same again. I too think this is a bee issue - but cuttings are so easy and would stop you worrying...

I hope it will. (If it's still there....) most things are being blown everywhere at the moment.

I suppose the dahlias and polyanthus flowering together in my garden are not that unusual - but I was surprised to find petunias and hellebores doing the same thing...do you have oddities too?

Thanks, 4thPanda. I feel quite stupid, not having thought of that! (But still wish there were a way to save without having to contribute... Thanks again.

Brilliant! Thank you so much, Victoria Sponge! But how do I find this helpful information again? Is there a way to save a thread like this? I'd love to be able to read your comments again - and perhaps contribute to the discussion. There must be lots of us who read the forum on an iPad.....thanks again!

Bare spot problem

In my north-facing border (in Dorset) I have a bare spot between an osmanthus and a fuchsia. At the moment a number of alliums are in bloom, but they are leggy and not really deserving of a prominent position. When can I re-locate the allium and what would you recommend for the resulting bare spot?

What's the star in your garden right now

I'm glad you like my agapanthus. They have been in the same pots for five years (they do much better when tightly packed) and improve every time they flower. I feed them regularly in the Summer then let them dry in the garage, cut off their leaves, dampen them about once a month - and off they go again in the Spring!

Weeks and weeks of pleasure!

I quite like the way the alliums are peeping through the nandina too....
