Designing a Garden Centre from scratch

Posted: 01/07/2013 at 20:35

We have a small friendly nursery in Salterforth, staff very helpful, prices reasonable, no tat! Just what you need, when you need it... and while we are on the subject of service, I had excellent service from gardenessentials.co.uk based in Edinburgh. I recently bought a couple of covers for my veg trug and the mesh cover was a tight fit, so they sent out a replacement which was a better fit, but they said I could keep the one that was tight as it would cost more to collect it ! I would have posted it back to them but they were insistent I could keep it. Unheard of in my opinion. I will definately be using them again....

worst job in garden

I love mowing too, best job in the garden for me, especially after a stressful day at work, i find it very therapeutic! Worst job...watering, I dont have an outside tap so I am in and out with watering cans, seems to take forever. It took me nearly 30 minutes this evening, and the annoying thing is it has just started raining  !!

I was thrilled to get a wren nesting last August, the box had been up for 2 or 3 years prior to it moving in, and so I set up my camera on the tripod and waited very patiently on and off for days!! Beautiful little bird. The day after these were taken they left so I felt priviledged to have got these shots. x

I risked life and limb last summer taking these pictures!! It is unusual to see a pipistrelle bat in the daytime, I think bats are fantastic little creatures!

Yes,there are lots, flitting above the water, but the bats take care of them !  actually there are lots more to see, the photo doesn't really do it justice..we are frequented by visiting ducks which are so sweet! until they trample the flowers!!
