hi george, my 2 year conference tree, growing in a large pot, had a similar problem regarding the developing buds falling off, ( no black edges on leaves however) when i asked the folks on the forum one or two mentioned 'june drop', which i had never heard of,apparently its a normal thing whereas the tree gets rid of buds that will no grow to fruition, but i was reassured that i would still have a crop later in the year. check under the leaves for bugs and caterpillars though

Hi Lorriane, I bought a second hand GH last year from a lady i work with and i am enjoying it so much, this year i seem to be busier than ever. It is only a small one because I didnt want to spend too much in case I did not enjoy it. Its a B & Q 4x6, so tiny really, but it fits snugly into a corner, and is sooo cosy on a chilly day when the temperature gets up. I sit there like Percy thrower with a cuppa, planting away and talking to myself! I have tomatoes, aubergine, flowers, herbs and enough room for a little buffet!! Enjoy it, and let us know how you get on!  PS If I ever get another, it will be a darned sight bigger

Hi all, just been out to water my plants and noticed that pratically overnight quite a few  of the newly forming buds on my pear tree have dropped off.( It is planted in a large tub and is 2 years old ) Last year we got bigger fruit buds which were subsequently eaten by something!  Im not having much luck with it....any ideas as to what is happening?

Hi everyone, some of you may remember i was keen to start growing veg but had no ground room. So i have taken the plunge and ordered a 'Veg Trug' (1m size) from Amazon. Im expecting it to come before the weekend and am quite looking forward to getting started. Could any of you knowledgable gardeners suggest easy ones to start off with?

Hi Riever

I too am a novice GH owner, it was supposed to be my hubby's hobby but he prefers the piano! We got the GH(4'x6') last year so I am slowly learning and loving the do's and dont's. I am also a little too keen with the watering can, I also prod and poke the soil of seedlings when they don't emerge as fast as I think they should, just looking for a shoot! I grow Basil, Coriander, Mint,(dead easy) Parsley, green beans, Tomatoes (Rosada and Sungold), also flowers, Cosmos, Marigolds, Sunflowers, pansys, primulas. Thats all i can fit in!! Im sure you will enjoy your retirement and the special time that is all yours.Let us know how you get on

I have been debating for a long time about whether or not to have 3 or 4 chickens in the garden, how many other gardeners have feathered friends? What conditions do you keep them ie, on lawn, on hard surface, chicken coop or eglu etc, and do they do damage to the garden?
