dividing hostas

Posted: 26/01/2015 at 20:34

I have a hosta in a pot that is breaking slowly from the top due to frost damage. The hosts is well established and I was thinking of dividing as the pot will expire soon ? Will it survive if I divide and repot now instead if spring ?

I have clay . Escallonia does well as a hedge produces flowers for bees but no berries . Very pretty and low maintenance and evergreen

Not convinced 5 is an Abelia, I know there are a few species but have my doubts...

Primula looks as though it needs dividing. Good job to do in spring after flowering.

7 yes agree Japanese as anemone if no sticks. Flowering currants have smaller leaves.

Attacking pampas

Mine are one in front of the other. I have cut down the one at the front but the second one very cleverly screens my compost bin. Thinking of cutting them down in alternate years so I still have screening. Anyone know how quickly they grow back?, the uncut one is 6ft at present
