Allium seeds

Thanks again folks.  I don't know which type of allium this is, but the flower itself is about a foot across, very spikey and looks really effective as a dried flower head.

Thanks very much for the advice everyone.  The concensus seems to be to give it more time, so I'll give it another year & see what happens by then.  I put about six seeds in the pot & expected some results by now -  so fingers crossed for next year.

Hello - me again!

About 18 months ago I put some tree peony seeds in a pot & have kept it in a cold frame over the winter period.  I've also kept it watered throughout the summer months, but nothing has emerged so far.  Am I being impatient, or should I expect to see some signs of life from the seeds by now?  Answers appreciated.

Thanks for the advice dockyrph & Berghill.  I had no idea it may take years!  I'll take your advice and get some bulbs instead.

Hello one & all

I've been given a very spikey, giant headed type of (I think), allium.  I've dried it off & collected the seeds.  When do I sow them & how?  In the ground or in pots?  Advice much appreciated.  Thank you.
