Overall: I have a couple of these on my roof garden which I planted in big pots at the height of TV gardening in the late 90s. I'd say it's more appropriate for a modern garden, and looks good in a less botanical context - metals, gravel and decking for example.
Have to say it's very forgiving of the less accomplished gardener (me). I generally thin it down a bit otherwise the internal bits of the clump of grass don't stay very fresh and blue.
