Dying wisteria

Posted: 03/08/2016 at 15:51

Hi Hortum-cretae,

Many thanks for that, it is against a wall that is the boundary with a pavement on the other side. I have trimmed the top growth right back . It is watered regularly and I have given it a feed of slow release fertiliser. I would hate to lose it as it gives me some privacy.

I have a wisteria growing in the corner of my garden, that's been doing  well for about 8 years but is now dying. I had a forsythia growing in the same place that just died as well.  Help please would it be some thing in the soil Other shade loving plants and ferns do well.

Thank you everyone I shall try the seaweed as we are close to the beach. Also I will keep an eye open for farmyard manure. We get inundated with slugs and snails so maybe seaweed would be best. I do put bark chippings around the plants.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for all the help. I do grow mine in tubs as 3/4 of my garden is tarmac with just two narrow borders. I have 3 in a tub that is abut 10 across, so will lea\ve them and fingers crossed for next year.

I also have another query,I had a chocolate vine growing last year it was fantastic but over the winter has died.
