We grow many hundreds of Acers.

I agree they can be very happy in full sun.

But not wind

As said SS, i grow Acers in full sun in a south facing garden ..... 60 / 40 mix of ericaceous and John Innes No3 compost quite happily, high winds definitely a no no due to the plants delicate structure, thanks  i currently have my eye on a large standard dissectum Inaba shidare if the price is right .. ? beautiful frame work.

fairy, hot dipping, is the use of jeyes fluid in hand hot water, basically you de leaf your plant ( in my case - my fuchsias ) then I submerge the potted plant into a container of jeyes fluid mixture at the correct dilution rate, this does the plant no harm what so ever.

Apparently worse day of the week here in the mids ..... .? Then picking up towards weekend ... Hmmm ? Still temps are not what they were ....... Sssshhhhhhhhhhhh.

MORNING ALL FORKERS. ....... .. Yes it's that crazy time of the morning where brumbull says ............. Have a pleasant day all wherever you are, I'am on the hunt today for vine weevil  after seeing a cheeky little chap on the base of one of my pots yesterday ....... I think I have brought this in on a plant i have recently purchased ? as I hot dip all my potted plants, so I'am going to be drenching my pots as a precaution with vine weevil killer2 ......... As a rule it's not a bad practice to do for forkers who have quite a few pots......  .. have you suffered ? how do you deal with these little critters .. ?

Lily I also wish you well with your fuchsia, I would like to say your recent picture of your standard fuchsia was something to be very proud of and certainly as good if not better than anything I have grown x
