HELLO FORKERS!

Pruned most of the Paul's Scarlet Climber in a sunny period. Hope there's another sunny period tomorrow to finish it.

Internet and phone played up again. France Telecom say it will be repaired by 6pm Wednesday, fault in the line.

Going off to make chicken in mushroom sauce with pasta and runner beans. OH has made pears in red wine - his speciality.

Watch out David, or you'll end up in the nick!

Not that spring like here. Alternating heavy showers with sunny periods. As soon as you go out you get wet, so you come in and the sun's out.

Hello all, Internet seems better now.

Sorry about your roof and GH, puncdoc, must be worrying.

Have been reading through and it seems the tone of this thread is changing, seeds are being sown, gardens are being talked about more, could spring be coming after all?

Lily, I saw your lovely photos on the camera thread of Wakehurst Place. I must go there, we have a flat in Eastbourne where we go when we visit the UK so it's not too far. I found this on Google, full of lovely photos. http://www.invectis.co.uk/wakeh/whg1.html

Growing Sweet Peas

Panda, I've put my loo rolls in punnets that had held tomatoes and Brussels sprouts, bought in the supermarket. When filling them some compost fell in between which is helping to stand them up straight and keep moist. I used ordinary potting compost. Seed compost is not widely sold here and expensive, so I keep it for the tiny seeds. Mine are on a window sill, but not up yet - so it could all be a failure!

Been having phone and internet problems, hard to get on here. Must be the weather.

We eat a little meat and a lot of veg, fish too. I sort of hover about being vegetarian, but I like meat and feel some is good for you and what would happen to the excess bull calves etc if they weren't eaten. Would certain animals become extinct if we didn't use them? But I don't fancy going to an abattoir for it. Bit of a hypocrite really, I suppose. When I had a Jersey cow we did eat the bull calf, but he didn't go to the abattoir, local butcher had a licence and calf (who had a horrid temper) didn't know a thing and he'd had a happy life in the field with his mum and sister.

Hope I haven't started a debate!

We are having steak, broccoli, beans and fried potatoes from the garden. I seem to have forgotten to dig a row and they mostly seem OK!

Nut and I think the same about fairies and elves! Pixies are young and mischievous. But then elves could be more human like such as the elves in the Lord of the Rings.

Rather a flat sort of day. Did a lot of ironing. OH was at an all day choir workshop. Rained a lot.

But then my Lobelias, Busy-Lizzies and Gazanias are all up and growing, but very small

That's a photo taken from the Internet of Aberystwyth. I thought this thread is supposed to be for photos that we, the posters, have taken.
