HELLO FORKERS! November Edition

I'm off to watch Strictly too. Unfortunately I didn't get supper in the oven early enough so I'll have to record some of it while I dish up.

That's a good job on that bed, Obelixx. Albizzias are lovely, I have one but it's in the wrong place among other trees, over 20 years old now, also the beigey pink. I prefer the brighter pink.

Mabel sounds adorable and funny.

I hope Liri didn't get rained on.

Wasn't actually morning here when I said that!

Good heavens that's a big rock, just looked back at the photos.

Internet is being very slow.

Morning all.

The leaves have suddenly fallen off the copper beech in the wind and rain. Need sweeping off the lawn, but the lawn is sodden.

The pump for the pool cleaner seems to have packed up, more expense. The man still hasn't got back to me for changing the filter which is leaking.

What have you lost?

I lost my wedding ring nearly 30 years ago when gardening. Two years later my daughter found it on the gravel garden path. We were going to move house, so just in time!

I don't get modern art either. I looked up those artists and just can't see it. We went to a lovely art gallery, Picturecraft, in Holt that had an exhibition of Kieron Williamson and other landscape painters that I like. But all too expensive. I like realistic landscapes, even a bit impressionist, but real.

Sweet Pea Know How

Good heavens Fairygirl, you still have sweet peas in November! I have the opposite problem in SW France. Once the weather heats up into the 30°s in July my sweet peas go brown and that's the end of them. I think they prefer being too cold to being too hot. Not sure why I keep bothering but I love the scent. I don't know anyone else who grows them in this area.

In France, at least in this area, every village has a war memorial with list of names too. Each village has a service by the memorial on the 11th Nov.

I seem to have been doing paper/computer work all day, except for when a friend called round. Not raining, should be outside.

Perennials in 9cm pots

But if the cold frame has a lid they can be protected from the rain so avoiding excess wet and the extra compost will provide more protection.

Morning all.

Good luck DD. I was just worried you'd lose it. I may have got the wrong house or the ad I saw may be out of date. Three years is about average for selling a house in France though. But it's not very likely they've had loads of interest in the current climate.

I hope the weather bucks up, I've got loads of tulips to plant.
