Invasive shrub

Posted: 28/10/2014 at 12:10

Mine has been in it's place for over 15 years, has spread a bit but certainly isn't invasive.

Dove, I don't know how cold it gets in East Anglia, but here in Dordogne I've never managed to keep one through the winter in a flower bed. We usually have several -10°s in the winter though, except for last winter. When I've had them they've flowered right up to the frosts.

What's the star in your garden right now

Lovely roses. I love roses but mine look a bit sad at this time of year. There are a few flowers left though.

Morning all. Must get out into garden today, sun is shining. Haven't had a frost yet so can't really get on with the autumn clear up. I don't clear it all up though, leave some for wild life and winter protection.

We have a Lidl, Dove, otherwise I might have asked for one of those fat bars of chocolate covered marzipan

What a lot of tomatoes, David. Had to clear all mine away. Blight outside, whitefly in GH. Never had whitefly before. Usually pick last tomato in December.

Thank you everyone for being so kind.

Lily I been thinking of you and your friend. The shingles seems to have gone on a long time, how horrid for her to have that added on to the rest. When I had it the doc gave me something that really took the burning out. xx

Thank you OL. Feel a bit mean downloading it all on forkers, but needed to get it off chest, sharing troubles makes you feel supported.

That sounds a good idea Lily Pilly I'm looking forward to lovely English bread, Dordogne bread is all crust and holes. Nice croissants though.

Today has really been not a good day. SIL (1st OHs sister, rang very early this morning. BIL has had a ruptured aorta, it's been repaired but he's in a coma. One of Son No 2's best friends, really nice young French man with lovely wife and baby daughter, was hit by a car while cycling with his cycling club and is in a coma, doctors can't say if he'll recover. One of our friends, husband of my gardening friend, has had a serious operation, but, although he's in pain at the moment, the doc says he's be OK.
