Camera Corner

Mine took much longer to upload of course. The orange is subdued, is that just the camera?

Oh dear, the quality isn't nearly as good as the original.

Here's mine of the same thing. Why did the photo come first when I did the script first?

OH and I took the same photo in Oxford, mine is a bit dull, his is brighter, but his was too big and wouldn't upload. So he reduced it as I couldn't manage it, but it's tiny now. He wouldn't stop to explain how he reduced - he's rushed off to mow the lawn. Think it's the first time he's managed to do it anyway! I've asked on previous threads how to reduce photos, but the few answers I had didn't work. Does anyone know?

tomstattyhead, you go to the photo you want on Photobucket and on the right it says "links to share photos", but I can't remember which one, either HTML or Direct I think. You click on the oak tree in the bar above and click on "an external site" then be guided, allowing time for each stage.

When to dig it all up

It does still look pretty, I hate pulling plants up when still in flower. Any chance of sowing your hardy annuals into modules to give them a start?

how to deter cats from fouling in your garden

Sounds a really good idea if it really works. There have been several threads here about the cat problem.

Can you help identify my rose bush, please?!

It looks like a climber as it's so tall. It would flower better if you spread the stems along the wall rather than just going up.Screw eyelets into the wall to attach them to. It could also be a shrub, but I would have expected it to be bushier. Did you shorten any of the stems? Hybrid teas have single flowers at the end of stems but it's too tall to be a hybrid tea. Unless it is a climbing version of one, like Ena Harkness.

Repaint it with something like Cuprinol Shades which come in lots of colours. I would go for light green, but up to your taste. You could spray it which would be quicker and easier.

I wonder what Beccrow did a year ago. I liked the pergola idea.

I don't think it will really be cold enough to cause damage. I looked at the met office forecast and the coldest for London is +5°. Keep an eye on the forecast.

Morning all.

I miss my mum. Sometimes I put my hand out to the phone, but she died 2 years ago. It was difficult being here in France and her in a home, but it was a good home and her choice and I had 1 sister and 2 brothers living near by. I suppose if you don't get on with your parents (sad) then you don't provide much support. My parents were lovely.

Chicky, I cheated with my salvia f., they are plug plants, so are the begonias (apart from 4 tubers that won't grow).

GG there are petunias (limoncello and mixed colours), nicotiana, gazanias, lobelia (but they are on the floor under the bench with begonias and busy-Liizzies), cosmos, salvia farinacea, zinnias, phlox drummondii "Moody Blues", a dahlia and some cannas, runner beans, rudbeckia "Tiger Eye" and "Cherry Brandy", Thunbergia and French marigolds. The tomatoes are on the opposite shelving. Other plants are hardening off in the cold frames.
