DIL says it's tomorrow evening for Granny duties. Removal men arrive to deliver early Wed morning.

I hope your head isn't burning too much, Runnybeak - that's what I rmember about shingles, the awful burning.

Lesley Garret has a lovely voice and she's slim and pretty too. Julie Walters is a really well known actress in England.

Have just had a heavy shower. Waiting for son to ring to say whether he wants me today or tomorrow for the next stage of housemoving, granny duties.

Why don't you buy a secondhand book, or a cheap one from Amazon, about gardening? Then you will be fore-armed with knowledge for next year.

The reason ivy pops up in my garden where I don't want it is because I live in a woodland clearing and ivy grows in the woods. The birds eat the berries and drop the seeds in my garden.

Not eating much this evening. The family were here for lunch, had BBQ pork in honey marinade, various salads, chips, then bread and cheese (French have cheese before pud) then lemon meringue pie that I made and chocolate mousse that daughter made.

On the top of this page is a place that says "search this site" with a magnifying glass sign. Type in "birthday", click on the sign and it will take you to a search page. I think it's "It's my birthday".

Found it http://www.gardenersworld.com/forum/talkback/its-my-birthday/455545-42.html  but saw you'd already found it.

Try feeding it in the spring and watering when the weather is dry, it may flower. Will need pruning too. They often don't flower for several years when young.

Trailing lobelia sometimes fizzles out, especially in full sun. The fuchsia and petunias should last longer. Last year some of my petunias got straggly so I cut them back, gave them a feed and they re-grew. If they really aren't any good then see if there is anything in the garden centre.
