HELLO FORKERS!

Posted: 16/10/2014 at 15:01

Oh dear Fidget! Hope they don't eat Lyn's. One year the mice ate my anemones.

It's really pouring. Looked out of upstairs window and realised a lot of gutters need cleaning out, including the garage ones. Left my sown sweet peas in open cold frame, hope they don't rot, not going out in that to rescue them.

Had lunch on sofa, then felt too fidgety to watch telly so lit woodburner and cleaned the sitting room. But when I took a log out of woodpile by the burner a load of huge ants fell out of the bark  Had to spray them and hoover them up. Wonder how many more there are in the pile? Did I carry them all in?

Now shall go and sit in nice clean sitting room and watch "Escape to the Country".

Was going to plant 25 daffodils under the Mirabelle, dug 13 holes and rain started. Bother.

OH  has gone to a Committee meeting. It's one of those days when all my arthriticky bits ache. Feeling like lying on sofa and watching telly. Perhaps I will, why does it make me feel guilty?

Another caterpiller to ID

I asked for an ID on one in September, but mine was a pinky colour, which apparently they are sometimes. It was someone on that thread who mentioned toilet brushes! This caterpillar is the more classic colour.

Be careful, the fine spines can irritate your skin.

My tip for weeding paving is glyphosate. It just takes longer at this time of year.

Nothing on TV until 9pm means 10 pm for me.

cabbages

Are they still baby cabbages? I grow cabbages outside, they like a firm soil and a decent amount of water.
