Echinocactus grusonii Golden barrel cactus

Posted: 02 December 2011
Overall: With regular repotting Echinocactus grusonii will grow fairly quickly. Over winter it should be kept completely dry with no water whatsoever or it will possibly rot and quite likely etiolate as it continues to grow when the light levels are too low.

Agave victoriae-reginae Century plant

Overall: Hi George, I'm guessing you bought a variegated type of Agave americana. They are a little more tender than the bog standard species but if you can sit it inside an unheated greenhouse to keep it dry and maybe wrap it around with fleece on colder nights it ought to come through winter ok.
