Montana's don't need pruning and will not flower if you cut it back it only flowers on 1 year old growth which is why it didn't flower. Only prune them if they are outgrowing there space and your are willing to sacrifice next years flowering ability. Its pruning group 1 if your looking on the net.

Heating for sheds?

I run tealights in a pot in my mini greenhouse when its going to be really really cold overnight if I am growing sweetpeas. It does work but my main fear is I cause a fire so I don't use them if its windy.

I want to grow the tuberous variety from seed however they seem difficult to grow. Anyone has any experience and when do you sow them. I've grown lobelia seedlings etc which are very small are these more difficult.

Thanks for any replys

I don't know about the everlasting ones but the annual ones need to be in a cool environment my first batch last year went leggy as I left them in the house too long. I would shove them in a cold frame now

Yeah my hybrid teas dont seem to be making hips for whatever reason but I have had alot of damage of the wind snapping stems on my standards which is why i am asking about cuttings. I like the hybrid tea style flowers but im not bothered about the colour.

Thanks for the reply.

Has anyone been successful with taking cuttings from hybrid tea roses and what methods did they use.

Also does anyone know a good supplier of rose seeds. I can only seem to find them on ebay and they tend to be from chinese sellers and seem to be available in colours that dont look realistic. I would hate to spend a long time growing something to find it is something it isnt.

Thanks for any replys
