Talkback: Grey mould on soft fruits

Posted: 09/11/2013 at 20:34
I have to tell someone....2 weeks ago I was clearing the last of the raspberries off my friend Dave's canes, and growing next to them he has some grape vines which he didn't think had been very successful. Peeking through the leaves were three very respectable bunches of black grapes! Delicious! This is on a VERY exposed hill in the slate mountains of North Wales!

Rubble in the border

My brother in law, who obviously knows everything, has me second guessing myself. I have built a small retaining wall in my mother in law's garden intending to fill it with rocks, compost, the Camellia, Peonies etc. He has filled it with old cement, blocks and render from an old wall and claims that if I just top it off with compost the plants will love it. I'm not off my head am I? He's barking isn't he?

removing daffodils from pots after flowering

I have recently discovered some forgotten bulbs, (daffs, crocus, anemone), in my cupboard, the crocus are showing leaf, anemone not and the green on the daffs have dried. What do I do with them?
